මාතෲ සෞඛ්‍ය ගැන විශේෂ අවධානයක් යොමුකරමින් දකුණු කොළඹ ශික්ෂන රෝහලෙන් ලෝක මව්වරුන්ගේ දිනයට සමගාමීව මැයි මස 12 වන දින අගය කලයුතු වැඩසටහනක් ඇරඹීමට කටයුතු සම්පාදනයකොට තිබෙනවා. ඒ සම්බන්ධයෙන් මාධ්‍ය දැනුවත් කරමින් ඔවුන් මාධ්‍ය නිවේදනයක් නිකුත් කොට තිබෙනවා.
අදාල සම්පූර්ණ නිවේදනය පහතින්
ලෝක මව්වරුන්ගේ දිනයට සමගාමීව, කළුබෝවිල දකුණු කොළඹ ශික්ෂණ රෝහල විසින් සංවිධානය කරනු ලබන ‘මාතෘ සහේළි’ වැඩසටහන මැයි මස 12 වන දින සිට ඇරඹෙන බව සාඩම්බරයෙන් දැනුම් දෙමු.
ශ්‍රී ලංකා ප්‍රසව හා නාරිවේද සංගමයේ සංකල්පයක් ලෙස සෞඛ්‍ය අමාත්‍යාංශයේ මඟපෙන්වීම යටතේ ක්‍රියාත්මක කරනු ලබන මෙම වැඩසටහනෙහි ප්‍රධානතම අරමුණ වන්නේ සාමාන්‍ය දරු උපතකදී ගර්භණී මවගේ සහයට කාන්තා ප්‍රසුත සහයිකාවකට ඇය අසල රැඳී සිටීමට අවශ්‍ය පහසුකම් සැලසීම මඟින්, දරු ප්‍රසුතිය මවට ධනාත්මක අත්දැකීමක් බවට පත් කිරීමයි. මෙහිදී මවට අවශ්‍ය මානසික සහනය ලබාදීම සහ දිරිගැන්වීම සඳහා තමා විසින් තෝරාගනු ලබන කාන්තාවකට ප්‍රසුත සහායිකාව ලෙස තමා අසල රැඳී සිටීමට අවස්ථාව සලසා දෙනු ලැබේ. මේ සඳහා තම මව, ළඟම ඥාතිවරියක/ යෙහෙළියක තෝරාගත හැකිය.
රෝගියාට සහනදායී නොවන රෝහල් ප්‍රතිපත්තීන් සහ අඩු පහසුකම් තත්ත්වයන් හේතු කොට ගෙන දරු ප්‍රසූතියේදී මව්වරුන්ට අත්දකින්නට සිදුවන මානසික පීඩාවන් සහ වේදනාකාරී අත්දැකීම් පිළිබඳව මැසිවිලි අපි අසා ඇත්තෙමු. අපගේ වැඩසටහනේ අරමුණ වනුයේ ඔවුනට විශ්වාසවන්ත සහායිකාවක සමඟ ප්‍රසූති අත්දැකීම බෙදාහදාගනිමින් දිරිමත්ව සහ අන්‍යොන්‍ය අවබෝධයෙන් යුතුව සැහැල්ලු මනසකින් මෙම සොඳුරු අත්දැකීමට මුහුණ දීමට අවස්ථාව සලසා දීමයි.
එසේම මෙම වැඩසටහනේ දීම අප ඒකකය විසින් මාර්ගගතව පූර්ව ප්‍රසව සායනය සඳහා ගර්භණී මව්වරුන් ලියාපදිංචි කිරීමේ ක්‍රමවේදය ද හඳුන්වා දීමට නියමිතය. මේ ඔස්සේ කාර්‍ය බහුල මව්වරුන්ට සහනයක් සලසා දීමට අපේක්ෂා කෙරෙන අතර, පරිගණක සාක්ෂරතාවය අඩු මව්වරුන් උදෙසා සාම්ප්‍රදායික ලෙස ලිඛිතව ලියාපදිංචි කිරීම ද අඛණ්ඩව සිදු කරගෙන යාමට නියමිත ය.
‘මාතෘ සහේළි’ වැඩසටහන පිළිබඳව වැඩිදුර තොරතුරු එළඹෙන 12 වැනි ඉරිදා දින උදෑසන 10.30 ට දකුණු කොළඹ ශික්ෂණ රෝහලේ වෛද්‍ය ඩබ්. ඩී. ගුණවර්ධන ශාලාවේ දී පැවැත්වීමට නියමිත සමාරම්භක උත්සවයේ දී දැනුවත් කිරීමට අපි බලාපොරොත්තු වෙමු.

Title: “Maathru Saheli – (මාතෘ සහේළි)” – Empowering Expectant Mothers
In conjunction with the upcoming Mother’s Day on the 12th of May, the Professorial Obstetric unit of Colombo South Teaching Hospital, Kalubowila is proud to announce the launch of its latest initiative “Maathru Saheli (මාතෘ සහේළි) – Labour Companion” programme.
This program is a concept of the Sri Lanka College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists and executed under the guidance of the Ministry of Health to offer emotional support and care for the expectant mother throughout the process of normal delivery by having either her mother or a female relative/ friend as her “labour companion”, thus providing expectant mothers with the privilege of having a trusted female companion who could offer courage, comfort, and moral support, thereby ensuring a positive childbirth experience.
Many expectant mothers have expressed concerns about difficulties during normal childbirth due to not-so-patient-friendly hospital policies and limited moral support, leading to maternal anxiety, pain, and fear. Our programme aims to alleviate these concerns by offering them a faithful supporter of their choice to accompany them through every step of their journey towards satisfactory childbirth. Through this initiative, we intend to empower mothers to go through normal vaginal delivery with confidence, better understanding and peace of mind as a part of the concept of respectful maternal care.
Also, at the same event, the unit has made plans to launch an online registration programme for expecting mothers, which would enable them to complete their registration at our antenatal clinic from the comfort of their homes. This initiative is expected to circumvent any inconvenience caused by the tedious in-person registration process. However, the traditional in-person registration will be continued for the benefit of those with limited computer literacy.
Further information about the programme, including the enrolling process for online registration and recruiting a labour companion will be provided during the launching programme which will be held in the Dr. W.D Gunawarane Auditorium at the Colombo South Teaching Hospital from 10.30 am onwards.
